Dr. Sharaara Rahman

Dr. Sharaara Rahman, DPM, MS is a board qualified foot and ankle surgeon who completed her surgical residency training at Lenox Hill Hospital – Northwell Health. During residency she served as Chief Resident, obtained additional credentialing in reconstructive surgery, and earned a certificate in Healthcare Management from Yale University.

Dr. Shar received her undergraduate degree from SUNY Binghamton, where she majored in Biology. At Binghamton, Dr. Shar was a Ronald E. McNair Scholar, received the Dale B. Terry Memorial Foundation Award, and published her Honors Thesis with both the Biology and Chemistry Departments.

Following undergraduate studies, she pursued a Master of Science from The University of Houston- Clear Lake, where she majored in biology and published cancer related research in the Journal of Analytical Chemistry and the Journal of Biomedicine. She then went on to attend the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, where she completed her doctorate and received the Class of 2020 Susheel Bhatla Award.

In addition to her passion in Medicine, she is also very involved with her community. She presently is an Anchor for a health show on IBTV USA called “Health and Happiness”, that serves to educate the South Asian community in health and medicine. She is also a mentor for a Non-profit organization called Children of 1971. She loves volunteering and helping others and can speak four languages: Bangla, Urdu, Hindi and English. Dr. Shar loves fashion, traveling to different countries and spending time with her two daughters, family and friends. Dr. Shar has a particular interest in cosmetic surgery of the foot, Sports Medicine related pathologies, and reconstructive forefoot surgeries. Her goal is to make innovative advancements in Podiatric Medicine in the future.
